Prof. Patrick Cunningham has been appointed to the Governing Board of Euroscience for a two year term from 2009-2010.
Euroscience was founded in 1997 in order to provide a forum for debate on science and technology in Europe and to strengthen the links between science and society. It is a pan-European, "grass-roots" association of scientists, policy-makers, teachers, students, industrialists and the general public.
Euroscience organises the Euroscience Open Forum, a biennial event, held in a major European city, comprising a five day programme of science talks, demonstrations, exhibitions and outreach activities, to showcase European scientific and technological achievements and to foster a European dialogue on science, technology and society. Prof. Cunningham headed-up the successful bid to bring this event to Dublin in 2012.
