Industry and Commercialisation
Insight’s mission and leadership vision are to continually advance the relatively nascent discipline of data science in an industry informed manner to ensure that Ireland continues to be a leader in the ongoing global trend of digitalisation. This is achieved by bringing together recognised world class research leaders in core data analytics research topics.
Insight’s expertise covers the whole data value chain, from the integration of multiple heterogeneous data sources to discovering patterns and trends in data and making explainable sense of them.
Education and Public Engagement
Education & Public Engagement is a strategic priority for Insight, and its vision is to build an empowered, scientifically engaged, inclusive and creative society, underpinned by a commitment to involve citizens in data science and embed a culture of engagement within Insight.
The centre’s EPE activities include working with community groups on the development of engaged research projects that are relevant and applicable to that community, engaging with students and youth groups of all ages to undertake stimulating STEM activities and visiting schools nationwide, especially in geographically isolated areas.
